OUR GOLDEN SUNSETS TREASURE
This region, also known as Llanos Orientales (Eastern Plains), is an ecoregion of flooded grasslands composed mainly of wide extensions of savannas that comprise the western basin of the Orinoco river, a natural frontier between Colombia and Venezuela. You will be amazed by the vastness of its pastures, the incredible colors of its sunsets and unique places like Caño Cristales, the most beautiful seven-colored river in the world.
The Llanos main activity is extensive livestock breeding, but aside from that it also has 8 protected areas that host 644 bird species, 86 mammal species, 28 amphibians, 119 reptiles and 494 fish species.
